Secrets Akumal is AAA 5 Diamond award winning All-Inclusive resort for adults only. Located in the stunning white sand bay of Akumal, Mexico between Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. This all-inclusive resort fuses elegant and original design with elements of nature. With a Mayan name meaning “place of the turtle,” Secrets Akumal is renowned for its beautiful beach, calm Caribbean waters and green sea turtle population - making it an oasis for snorkeling, kayaking, and other resort activities.   • All room reservations are first-come, first-served based on order of deposit.

  • If you want a room that has sold-out, or would like to upgrade to a different room, let us know and we will check availability and pricing.

  • If you would like to arrive or depart outside of the trip window, let us know and we will check availability and pricing.

  • Specific buildings, adjacent rooms or room numbers are not guaranteed but may be requested at check-in.

  • February 30th 2025 is the final date to reassign rooms to a different name or adjust the dates reserved.

  • Some dinner restaurants require minimum dress code (no shorts or tanks for men, no flip flops).

To be included in Amy and Dylan’s Welcome Party at the resort, please only book through this group room block and not through any other method (even directly with the hotel). We offer low contracted group rates that have been secured by Amy and Dylan with a deposit already paid on each room. To participate in all of the wedding-related activities at the resort, you must stay at Secrets Akumal as part of the wedding group.

TRIP DEPOSIT + PAYMENT SCHEDULE


A payment of $100 USD is all you need to reserve your room.

Exclusive group rate rooms are available on a “first-come first-served basis”

  • December 10th, 2024 is the deadline to pay the $100 deposit to reserve your room at Secrets Akumal.

  • December 11th, 2024 is the due date for 30% of your room balance.

  • February 12th, 2025 is the due date for your remaining room balance.

Making Multiple/Monthly Payments:

After you pay the deposit to reserve your room, you will receive an invoice to your email. Click ‘view invoice’. On your invoice page you will be able to make custom payment amounts with the same or different credit cards, as long as you’re following the payment schedule above. Each time you make a custom payment, it will auto-deduct from your remaining balance.

Select flight times and purchase flights on your own terms.

  • Cancun International Airport (CUN) is the airport to fly into if you want to include transfers on your booking.

  • The Tulum airport currently only offers taxis as the transfer option.

  • We’ve found that destination wedding guests overwhelmingly prefer to handle their own flights. (Especially considering the use and accumulation of airline miles.)

  • We do need your flight info by March 1st, 2025 to provide the ground transportation company with your arrival and departure times. You can send that to us by filling out the form on this page.

  • You may also select to independently book your own ground transportation to Secrets Akumal and back to the airport if you wish.

eXTENDING YOUR TRIP

PLEASE READ

  • If you cancel your reservation before December 1st, 2024 you are only responsible for the non-refundable $100 per room booking fee already paid as the deposit when you reserved your room. However, you can reduce the number of nights in your reservation up to this date without a fee (maintaining the 3 night minimum).

  • Between December 1st and January 1st, 2025 up to 30% of the existing room nights may be cancelled without penalty. A penalty of 10% will apply to the remainder of the cancelled room nights.

  • Between January 1st, 2025 and February 1st, 2025 up to 20% of the existing room nights may be cancelled without penalty. A penalty of 30% will apply to the remainder of the cancelled room nights.

  • Between February 1st, 2025 and February 14th, 2025 up to 5% of the existing room nights may be cancelled without penalty. A penalty of 100% will apply to the remainder of the cancelled room nights.

  • If you cancel your reservation, no-show or reduce the number of nights or travelers in your reservation after February 14th, 2025, you are responsible for 100% of your room total.

  • If you have travel insurance you can file a claim to get a refund based on insurance providers terms.

Secrets Akumal will not provide a credit or voucher for future travel if you arrive after your scheduled arrival date, if you check out early, or do not travel on the dates selected for this reservation for any reason.

Bohemia Wedding Travel is not an agent of Secrets Akumal and has no governance of refund policies and other rules mandated by Secrets Resorts.

cANCELLATION POLICY

TRAVEL PROTECTION

FYI, not purchasing travel protection could result in the loss of your travel cost and/or require more money to correct the situation. Without protection, there may be no way to recoup any losses, costs, or expenses incurred and the price of Travel Protection IS NOT included in the price of the room selections and is non-refundable once purchased.

  • Having travel protection is definitely important and I recommend it for everyone. We personally buy it for our trips. However, the option to purchase travel insurance is solely up to you and you may purchase it through any insurance company you would like.

  • This website (Travel Insured) offers a very comprehensive policy called the “Worldwide Trip Protector” plan with optional add-ons like CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason), Optional Bed Rest which helps cover onsite quarantine expenses, and other add-on options. Travel Insured is the insurance company we personally use and suggest to others but you are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any entity that you choose.

  • **If you have any questions about the insurance please give Travel Insured a call at 800-243-3174 or go their Website. We (Bohemia Wedding Travel) are not a licensed insurance company and can not legally answer any insurance-related questions.**

 ROUNDTRIP AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Ground transportation costs to the resort and back to the airport is not included with your room reservation cost, but can be reserved for you on the booking form if you wish.

For Amy and Dylan’s wedding, we have secured direct, on-stop transfers with Mayaland at $152 per person, round trip to and from the Cancun airport (Not Tulum).

We highly! recommend that you select to include ground transportation when placing your room deposit so that you won’t forget about the option later and possibly become stranded at the airport with only expensive options. Ride share services like Uber are not viable in the Riviera Maya

You will fly into the Cancun International Airport (CUN) where the transportation company will pick you up.

Once your flights are booked, please fill out our flight form HERE, so we can get the correct info to Mayaland, so they are ready and waiting for you at the correct times.

Any updates to your flight info or any needed changes to the transfers must be updated directly with us at hello@bohemiaweddingtravel.com. Bohemia Wedding Travel does not have access to make any emergency changes or updates.

Resorts in Mexico are not in compliance with the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The venue has a limited number of accessible guest rooms that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We can request an accessible room for you but it’s never guaranteed.

Also, public areas at the venue are wheelchair accessible, just not always wheelchair friendly. If you need to rent a wheelchair, scooter, or oxygen tank you can do so through Playa Mobility. Click here to visit their website.
