Dia de Muertos
Isla Mujeres Mexico
October 31st - November 4th 2025
Welcome Amigos and Amigas!
We are excited to share details about the upcoming get to gather in Isla Mujeres (Island of Women). The island offers a wide variety of activities and the best part is that nothing has to be planned or scheduled. You can drive from one tip of the island to the other in a half hour with many places to easily pull over and explore. We will have 3 golf carts to accommodate 12 people so that everyone will have the freedom to do whatever they want. The vibes of the island are very chill. I have secured the best available rate for our villa working directly with their management and if you know of anyone who would like to join us I can recommend smaller nearby properties.
If you have any questions, you know how to reach me.

Villa Chan Kah
Villa Chan Kah is one of the finest villas in Isla Mujeres. It features 6 spacious rooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, dining area, living room, TV room, 6 luxurious bathrooms, and stairs to a private beach. Our villa offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience. Designed in a charming Mexican casual and modern style, Villa Chan Kah is nestled in the vibrant south part of Isla Mujeres.
Island Transportation
You will fly into the Cancun International Airport (CUN) where a transfer company or taxi/uber will pick you up to take you to the Isla Mujeres Ferry.
After a 20 minute ferry ride across the calm channel, I will meet you at the exit of the ferry port in a golf cart with an ice cold cooler onboard. Then we will zip off directly to our Villa to get you settled in before a quick time share presentation and bible study.
I am going to provide 3 golf carts that anyone can use for the duration of the stay.
(I’ll share more detail about transportation later)
Additional Information + Recommendations
Isla Mujeres will still be hot during the day in early November but the pools and ocean will be perfect.
You will not need any footwear but flip flops or sandals. But I would make sure they are comfortable and in good condition so you don’t bust a thong on vacation.
You will likely spend 75% of your time in swimwear t-shirts and cover ups. If you want to wear something nicer or spooky at night I would keep it light because we will likely visit a festive parade in Centro. There’s nowhere formal on the island.
I would recommend a hat for North Beach. It’s likely we would spend time there hanging out in the shallow reflective water. There are beach clubs with palm trees and umbrellas but we probably won’t find umbrellas for 14 people at one time in one place.
I would also recommend a small beach bag or dry bag for each couple to travel around with.
I will bring four sets of snorkels and masks. There’s a lot of fish to see in the lagoon.
Sunscreen is sold everywhere but more expensive than CVS. If you’re not checking a bag I would just get it on the island. Also, it’s highly likely that there is cache of sunscreen at Casa Mimosa left over from the history of previous guests.
Electrolit drinks are widely available in convenience stores and we will be supplied with garafons of purified water.
There is a grocery store near our villa so we will likely stock up on Saltines and Hawaiian Punch on day one.
There are restaurants and beach clubs nearby for quick bites.
A lot of bars and restaurants will not accept credit cards. They will accept dollars but you’ll get a better rate with pesos. There are places to exchange dollars and ATMs that will dispense pesos. (Ask me which ones to use).
Notify your bank that you will be traveling to Mexico so that they don’t reject any purchases or withdrawals.
AT&T works no differently there than in the US but with slower data. Verizon calling and texting works the same but with very little data per day included.
Towels are provided.
We can discuss more activities later including adding a chef to prepare us brunch or hiring local make up artists for Sugar Skull face paint.
