What to know about Hotel Xcaret:
Hotel Xcaret Mexico is an all-ages, all-inclusive resort- with adults-only building options (Arte is their separate 16+ resort).
Located in Playa del Carmen.
Known for it's included activities and round-trip airport transfers in the room price.
Has multiple, diverse wedding venues to choose from.
Room rates: $$$$ High-end - but includes a lot in the price.
Say "I Do" Somewhere That Feels Like No Other Wedding You've Ever Been To:
Picture your ceremony happening inside a candlelit cave, ancient stone overhead, guests' faces glowing in the candlelight.
Or walking down an aisle beside an emerald-green river, jungle pressing in on both sides, toes practically in the water.
Or dancing barefoot on the beach until sunrise, the party still going because nobody wants it to end.
Or saying your vows in a Mexican hacienda plaza surrounded by tropical plants and colonial archways.
That's not a wild wedding dream friends; that's a regular Saturday at Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Arte.
What Makes This Resort Different
Hotel Xcaret is as unique as it gets for all-inclusive resorts!
The “Mexico” side is a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort built directly into the natural cave, cenote, and river system of the Riviera Maya. Suites, pools, and walkways wind around real inlets and underground rivers- this isn't a resort with a "jungle theme," it's a resort that grew up around actual jungle. Mexican culture and cuisine run through everything here, from the architecture to the menus, and the whole property leans hard into celebrating Mexico rather than smoothing it over into generic resort beige.
Its mirrored sister property next door, Hotel Xcaret “Arte”, is the adults-only (16+) version- its own restaurants, its own pools, its own rooms. Here's the thing to really understand: there's zero crossover between the two. You cannot mix your room block across both properties. They run as two completely separate hotels that happen to share a name and a fence line. So if your guest list includes grandparents and a flower girl, Hotel Xcaret Mexico is your venue. If your celebration is adults-only from the jump, that's a different conversation for Arte.
The Included Xcaret Parks, In Detail
What really makes this resort stand out above the rest. All of these parks are included in your room price, with transfers to and from!
Xcaret Park: The original and the flagship park, right next door to the hotel. Over 50 attractions covering underground rivers, an aviary, a coral reef aquarium, wildlife encounters, and deep-dive Mexican culture and archaeology. Open daily 8:30 AM–10:30 PM, no reservation needed - hop on the shuttle as many times as you want during your stay. It's also home to the amazing Xcaret México Espectacular evening show, which is included in your room cost (dinner and wine pairing with the show costs extra).
Xplor: The zip-line and off-road adventure park, and one of the most-visited of its kind in the world. Think zip-lines, amphibious all-terrain vehicles, underground river rafting, and swimming through caves. Open Monday–Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM, closed Sundays, no reservation required. Expect a fair amount of inclined walking between activities, worth flagging for guests with mobility concerns.
Xplor Fuego: Xplor's after-dark sibling. Same underground-river-and-jungle setting, but at night, with the Riviera Maya's highest zip-line as the headline activity, followed by a Mexican dinner with beer, tequila, and traditional games. Evening hours, and this one does require a reservation.
Xel-Há: A natural lagoon and snorkel park with 20+ attractions: cliffs to jump from, slides, and calm inlet water good for all ages and swimming abilities. Open daily 8:30 AM–6 PM, and unlike Xcaret and Xplor, this one requires a reservation.
Xenses: The sensory/illusion park: think "flying without wings," activities that mess with your sense of balance and perception, ziplines, and playful physical challenges. Best for ages 5+, though some activities suit teens and up better. Takes about 2–3 hours to complete. Open Monday–Saturday, 8:30 AM–6 PM (park closes at 7 PM). No food & beverage outlet inside this one, so guests should eat before or after.
Xoximilco: Now just called “Xoxi”- An evening, off-property Mexican fiesta on colorful trajinera boats, inspired by Xochimilco in Mexico City: mariachi, a norteño band, food, drinks, and traditional games. Runs Monday–Saturday, 3–11 PM, roughly a 30-minute drive each way, and requires a reservation. Perfect for wedding welcome parties!
Xenotes: A full-day cenote excursion deep in the jungle: rappelling, kayaking, and zip-lines that drop you straight into cenote water, plus a picnic with wine and beer. Runs Monday–Saturday, about 9 hours door to door (shuttle leaves early morning), and requires a reservation.
Xailing — The ferry experience to Isla Mujeres (from the Cancun Hotel Zone embarkation point) and, depending on your package, to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen. A beach-day-on-another-island option rather than an adventure park.
Please note these hours and details are subject to change. Email us with your plans, and we can keep you updated! Reservations for all parks are recommended during high season (winter months).

Why This Location Actually Works for a Wedding
Hotel Xcaret Mexico sits about 45 minutes from Cancun International Airport, 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen's Fifth Avenue, and just 5 minutes from Xcaret Park, Xenses, and Xplor- all connected by the resort's complimentary shuttle. Round-trip airport transfers are included for every guest, and yes, included means that is already included in the room rate.
If you’re planning any group activities/excursions with your group, all of the inclusions immediately make up for the higher room costs!
The sweet spot for weather is November through April, when the Riviera Maya is at its driest- warm days, clear skies, pleasant evenings. That's your window for an outdoor ceremony on the beach, riverside, or beside a cenote. Just remember, the more idyllic the weather, the higher the room rates.
If you're getting married outside that window, don't panic! The resort's cave venues are indoor and/or air-conditioned, so they're comfortable no matter the season, and their indoor ballrooms are actually really pretty, already decorated with lanterns. Booking in August to October also tends to land better rates, and the occasional better wedding promotions :)
Activities & Amenities
Hotel Xcaret Mexico resort has 15 outdoor pools, an indoor cave pool, a waterpark, a full spa with hydrotherapy, a 24-hour fitness center, a tennis court, an arcade, a theater (and probably even more activities I’m not thinking of).
Also included are the kayaks and paddle boards to let you cruise right through the property's coves and rivers.
And then there's the parks, like we talked above above! Xcaret Nature Park (the original, with underground rivers, wildlife, and immersive culture), Xenses (a sensory playground), and Xplor (zip-lines, amphibious vehicles, cave rafting), all just minutes away with transportation included. Add in the other Xcaret parks and tours, and your wedding guests can build a week that's as adrenaline-packed or as lounge-by-the-pool as they want.
Food & Beverage
With roughly 20 amazing restaurants woven into the all-inclusive plan, food is genuinely one of the reasons people choose this resort, not an afterthought.
Expect Mexican street food stations, a Michelin-recognized fine-dining option (HA'), regional specialties from Yucatán to Veracruz to Oaxaca, plus Italian, Asian, and a fully vegan restaurant.
Some venues skew adults-only or have age minimums, so worth checking with us on which spots your whole wedding party can actually use together.
- And for late-night parties, both Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Arte have a late-night clerb going to 4 am.
Accommodations
The family-friendly “Mexico side” of the resort recently expanded to 1,800 suites across 10 themed buildings called “Casas”, each named for elements of Mayan cosmology. Casas Viento, Tierra, and Espiral (among others) are family-friendly; Casa Fuego is the resort's adults-only enclave with its own rooftop pool and a more grown-up energy, and Casa Agua leans wellness-focused with direct spa access. Couples love that you can put family in one Casa and book yourselves into Casa Fuego for a little extra privacy during the trip.
One thing I love is that Hotel Xcaret Mexico makes a concerted effort to put all of the wedding guests in one group, as close to each other as possible and as close to the wedding venue of choice as possible. It's a big resort, but they don't want groups to be too spread out :)
Room rates here run higher than a lot of all-inclusive resorts… but most all-inclusive resorts do not include as much as this one does!
The price includes the full All-Fun Inclusive experience: round-trip airport transfers, access to roughly 20 restaurants, unlimited entry (with transportation) to the Xcaret family of parks, and ferry service to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. Guests often tell us that even one day at Xplor or Xel-Há alone would've cost more than the price difference versus a standard all-inclusive.
Suite categories run from Garden and River Suites up through Junior Suites, Swim-Up rooms, and Master/Presidential Suites- with garden, river, ocean, and beachfront views depending on the Casa. If you want the full room chart with capacities, ask us for the current version- this is one of those details that gets updated as the resort's suite mix evolves.
Xcaret Mexico Suite.
A “Jump” suite - Equipped with a jump platform balcony and ladder.

Xcaret Park Weddings:
What to know about having your wedding at Xcaret Park:
The setting is genuinely one-of-a-kind, and because the park closes to the public for your event, you get total privacy and no reception curfew- party as late as you want!
Xcaret includes transportation for you and your guests to and from the park.
The catch is that the park closes at 7 p.m., so your ceremony has to start at or after that- meaning in winter months, you're saying vows after dark (which candlelit ceremonies are pretty cool).
If natural light matters to you, you can hold the ceremony earlier at the hotel and move just the reception into the park, though that comes with an extra fee for splitting venues.
Amor y Mar Package: A Private Beach or Hacienda Wedding
For 30+ guests, including the couple. Held at Las Pozas Beach or the Mexican Hacienda, inside Xcaret Park.
Price: $19,000 USD | Additional guest: $190 USD
Ceremony includes:
Venue for the ceremony
Officiant for a symbolic ceremony
Special ceremony arch
High-top table for the ceremony
Flower arrangement for the ceremony table
Guest chairs
Audio and microphone
Cocktail hour includes:
Standard cocktail setup with high-top tables
Hors d'oeuvres (4 pieces per person)
1-hour open bar
Reception includes:
Venue for the reception
Standard dinner setup; tables, chairs, linens, dishes, etc
Three-course plated menu
4-hour open bar
Toast with sparkling wine
Additional Inclusions:
Personal flowers for the couple (2 pieces max)
Bouquets/boutonnieres for bridesmaids and groomsmen (4 pieces max)
Soloist music (45 min max)
Xcaret DJ service for 4 hours
Wooden dance floor, 16x16 ft.
Important information:
Transfers between the resort and the park are complimentary for the wedding. Included are:
One round of transportation to the park at a specified time
Two rounds of transportation back to the resort after the reception at specified times (for example a 10:30pm and 12:30am pick-up).
Ceremonies at the park can begin at 7 pm when the park is closed, so it is 100% private to you and your guests. Please make note of the sunset time during the fall and winter months
There is no ending-curfew time.
You can have your ceremony at the resort and your reception at the park, and split those venues if you would like. Your wedding deposit is the fee for splitting those venues.
Services not listed (extra flowers, décor, entertainment, photo/video) are quoted separately with in-house vendors; outside vendors incur a vendor fee.
Río de Amor Package: The Bigger Park Wedding in a cave
Same park-wedding package as above, scaled up for 70+ guests with different wedding venues, starting at $25,000 USD (+$210/additional guest). Your ceremony happens at the super unique El Caracol, and the reception moves to La Isla (THE CAVE!), and you get a pre-hispanic welcome to the park for your guests, a 3-course plated dinner, and a 5-hour open bar.

Day 1: Sangeet and Mehndi: 3 hours of venue time, standard banquet setup, an international buffet, a 3-hour open bar, 3-hour DJ service, a 16x16 ft. dance floor, and a 2-hour henna artist service (1 artist for close family, 2 for guests- Tip: send your Mehndi inspiration ahead of time, since intricate designs need more hours and may cost more.)
Day 2: Ceremony & Reception: 2 hours of ceremony venue time with a special Mandap, garlands for the couple, chair setup, and a traditional aguas frescas station, followed by a reception with standard dinner setup, an international buffet, a 4-hour open bar, 4-hour DJ service, and another 16x16 ft. dance floor.
For a catered Indian dinner, contact us for pricing.
Couples also get a wedding planner and day-of coordination team and a 2-hour photo session before or after the wedding.
The extra perks: wedding-night amenity, next-morning breakfast, personalized gift, ironing, and the anniversary night certificate- kick in when you and 80% of your guests stay at Hotel Xcaret México or Arte for at least 3 nights. Available for 50+ guests, and minister service, flowers, décor, extra entertainment, and photo/video are all quoted separately.

Activities For Your Wedding Week: Itineraries That Get Your Money’s Worth
Because there's so much to do here, we put together 2 sample 4-night itineraries you can hand your wedding party so nobody's standing around asking "What now?" “Where do we go?”
Download the FREE Itinerary samples PDF HERE
These itineraries are based on an adventurous traveler and a chill traveler’s trip!
The Adventurer:
For guests who want to move: check in, grab dinner near your lobby, full-day trip to Xplor or Xel-Há on day 2 (with a welcome party that evening), kayaking/paddleboarding the resort's rivers and pool time on wedding day morning, then Xenses or the spa plus the Mexico Espectacular Show or Xoximilco dinner boats on the last night.
The Chill Traveler:
Same wedding-week bones, lower intensity: an easier Xenses day trip instead of Xplor, more pool and river time, a relaxed farewell dinner with options like Teatro del Río or Monarca.
Both itineraries route guests to the dining options closest to their building (El Cielo vs. La Tierra lobby) so nobody's walking across the resort just to eat after a long travel day- a small thing, but it saves a lot of "where do we even go" texts on day one.
A couple of practical notes worth passing along to your guests: most parks are closed Sundays except Xcaret Park and Xplor; reservations aren't required for Xcaret, Xplor, or Xenses but are recommended; and kayaks/paddleboards can have a wait, so sign up for the waitlist at Cuevas Kayaks early if there's a specific time you want.
- and please note that times and dates are subject to change - please contact us with the most updated hours.
