Hyatt Ziva Cancun: Family-friendly weddings in the Cancun hotel zone
What to know about Hyatt Ziva Cancun:
All-ages, all-inclusive resort
Located in the Cancun hotel zone
Known for its 2 calm, turquoise sea beaches
2 “No-Sand” ceremony venues, and 2 rooftop reception venues.
Room rates: $$$ Mid
Two white-sand beaches, with turquoise waters…. that’s right TWO beaches at ONE resort!
For all-inclusive resorts with the dreamiest beaches, Hyatt Ziva Cancun might take the cake for a destination wedding location in Mexico.
A wedding in Cancun is a total mood booster, and direct flights from most major cities make a destination wedding here, even more fabulous. With an average of 330 days of sunshine and gentle ocean breezes, Cancun’s weather is on your side if you time it right.
For Hyatt Ziva Cancun, we love October to early December weddings and April and May weddings. This resort sits at the tip of the peninsula and it tends to catch the crosswinds of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea in the winter.
If you need to have a wedding here from mid-December to mid-March, be prepared for more wind - aka: Hair in an updo and a wedding veil with veil weights.

Why Choose Hyatt Ziva Cancun As Your Destination Wedding Venue:
Hyatt Ziva Cancun is a family-friendly all-inclusive resort, with an adults-only section (Turquoize Tower) for those who want a quiet getaway from the kiddies.
It has 4 highly sought-after wedding venues:
2 “no sand” ocean-view ceremony venues
2 private rooftop reception venues
Located at the tip of Punta Cancun, it sits on a narrow peninsula in the heart of the Cancun hotel zone. Surrounded by the Caribbean Sea on three sides, it's constantly open, perpetually breezy, and differently lit.
Bonus? It’s only 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport.
Planning a wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun is an excellent idea, as the resort accommodates guests of all ages and has multiple wedding venues. Activities such as water sports, a fitness centre, basketball and tennis courts, paddleboarding, a kids club, an infinity pool, a Zen spa, access to nearby golf courses, walking distance to Cancun’s tourist nightclub zone, and several restaurants make it a relaxed, beautiful, and fun wedding location in Cancun.

Hyatt Ziva Cancun offers packages ranging from elopement ceremonies to large celebrations for hundreds of guests. We love that our couples can start planning with the in-house team one year in advance!
It's important to note that if you have a Friday or Saturday wedding, you have a minimum wedding day spend of $30,000 USD - which is not difficult to reach.
Lavish & Opulent:
The Lavish & Opulent Package is a great starting point for couples who want a complete private wedding celebration while still having plenty of flexibility to customize the décor and entertainment.
The package includes the couple, plus at least 20 guests and covers the symbolic ceremony, basic ceremony décor, flowers for the couple, sound system, wedding cake, a 1-hour private cocktail hour with open bar and hors d'oeuvres, and a 3-hour private reception with dinner and open bar. Couples also receive several extras, including spa treatments, hair and makeup or grooming services, a romantic dinner and special in-room wedding-night amenities.
The ceremony is held at the Lighthouse Gazebo.
2026/27 price: $6,789 Monday–Wednesday or $7,299 Thursday–Sunday. Additional resort guests are $127 per person.
Best for: Couples who want the essential ceremony, cocktail hour and reception bundled together but plan to totally customize their wedding with additional décor, entertainment or upgrades.
Luxury Wedding:
The Luxury Package steps things up considerably and is designed for a larger wedding of the couple plus at least 40 guests.
Along with the ceremony, cocktail hour and 3-hour reception, Luxury includes significantly more wedding-day extras: upgraded ceremony décor, a solo musician, professional ceremony photography and video, a Mexican trio or saxophonist, extensive spa and beauty services for the couple, honeymoon breakfast in bed and other VIP amenities.
The wedding ceremony takes place at the Cliff Gazebo.
2026/27 price: $14,236 Monday–Thursday or $15,271 Friday–Sunday. Additional resort guests are $127 per person.
Best for: Couples who want many of the traditional wedding upgrades—music, photography, video, ceremony décor and beauty services—already incorporated into one package rather than adding everything individually.
Zama Wedding:
The Zama Package is Hyatt Ziva Cancun's most elaborate package in the wedding guide and is particularly appealing for couples who want the reception itself to feel like a full-scale party.
Zama includes the couple plus at least 48 resort guests, a Cliff Gazebo ceremony, cocktail hour and an upgraded 4-hour private reception at the Rooftop Terrace for a discounted fee.
It also incorporates a DJ booth, DJ/MC and lighted dance floor package, 4 cold-firework effects, up to 5 seasonal floral centerpieces, professional ceremony photography and video, a solo musician, spa and beauty services and many of the couple amenities included with Luxury.
2026/27 price: $18,112 Monday–Thursday or $19,147 Friday–Sunday. Additional resort guests are $143 per person.
Best for: Couples who want a more turnkey, entertainment-focused celebration with the Rooftop Terrace, DJ, dance floor, lighting and special effects already built into the package.
South Asian Destination Wedding Package
Hyatt Ziva’s South Asian Destination Wedding Package is structured very differently from its standard wedding packages. Instead of covering only the wedding day, it bundles 4 major private events into one celebration for at least 100 guests:
A 4-hour Welcome Dinner / Sangeet / Garba
A wedding ceremony lasting up to 2 hours
A 1-hour cocktail hour
A 4-hour wedding reception
The Welcome Dinner and reception include buffet meals and international open bar service, while the cocktail hour includes six hors d'oeuvres and international bar service. Chai is included in the beverage offerings throughout the applicable events, and the reception includes a wedding cake.
For Hyatt Ziva Cancun, the package is $35,279 for up to 100 guests in 2026/27, with additional guests at $355 per person. Indian cuisine is available for an additional surcharge.
Best for: South Asian/Indian couples looking for a multi-day destination wedding celebration structure that accommodates traditional events such as the Sangeet or Garba in addition to the ceremony and reception.
Welcome Party Packages
One thing I really like about Hyatt Ziva Cancun is that couples don't have to commit to a formal or limited rehearsal dinner. The resort offers several welcome-event formats ranging from a simple cocktail hour to a full buffet dinner.
The current options include a Welcome Cocktail at $38.99 per guest, Taquito Night at $75.99 per guest, Short & Sweet buffet dinner at $86.99 per guest and Margaritas at Habaneros at $55.99 per guest. These prices are listed plus 31% tax and gratuity with venue rental generally starting at $500.
Chef attendant fee starting at $100 USD
Open-bar upgrade available for $12 USD per person + 31% tax and gratuity.
(For example, Taquito Night: $75.99 USD per person + 31% tax and service (approximately $99.55 per person total), plus venue rental and chef attendant fee.)
Couples can also personalize welcome events with extras such as late-night snacks, charcuterie, s'mores, ice cream carts, churros, pizza and sweets stations.
My personal favorite places for a welcome party are Sahara Beach or the Firepits Deck.

Accommodations in Hyatt Ziva Cancun Resort
When looking for a luxurious getaway, it helps to understand the Hyatt Ziva Cancun room and suite types.
The magnificent 547 suites in Hyatt Ziva Cancun were last fully remodeled in 2016 and styled in a minimal, contemporary aesthetic.
These rooms are spread across the following buildings:
The Pyramid is the main family-friendly buildings, and its rooms are in the basic categories.
The Club offers private check-in and Ziva club-level lounge services, with a daily continental breakfast and premium drinks and snacks at any time of day.
The Turquoise Tower is for adults only, and its suites are approximately 700 square feet, with private hot tubs and ocean views from the balconies. Guests staying in this building are offered butler service, private check-in, Zen Spa access via a private lift, and facilities like a rooftop infinity pool and bar.
There are a TON of room categories at Hyatt Ziva Cancun, we won't talk about each one, but let's do a general overview:
The Club Ocean Front Corner Suite - Popular for a getting-ready room for wedding couples.
All rooms offer great in-suite facilities, including in-room dining service, Wi-Fi, a mini-bar, world-class bathroom amenities, a furnished patio, a private balcony, and a fine complimentary tea and coffee setup.
The resort has some swim-up suites that offer beautiful morning sunrises, but note they are for those 13 years or older.
Note: Only the Pyramid building and the Turquoise tower have Swim-up rooms.
The Oceanfront corner suites are spacious, well-decorated, and feature a hot tub, a full bathroom, and a powder room. These suites include Hyatt club-level amenities, exclusive access to the Hyatt club lounge, and personalised butler support for concierge services, as well as private check-in or check-out services, in case your guests and relatives want to book it.
For wedding couples, they usually like to do a “split stay” - this means having 2 different room categories during their stay.
Why? Because the bridal spa is small and dark for getting ready, so usually the brides prefer a larger room to get ready in with their bridesmaids.
Popular combo: Club Ocean Front Corner Suite for 2 Nights + Turquoize Oceanfront Master King for the rest of the stay.

Food and Beverage Experience at Hyatt Ziva Cancun:
At Hyatt Ziva Cancun, the dining experience can be planned across restaurants, banquets, outdoor venues, and curated wedding menus.
Hyatt Ziva Cancun has 8 restaurants. This is where Hyatt Ziva Cancun separates itself from many all-inclusives. The dining is not a variation on a theme. The restaurants actually serve different cuisines, each with its own distinct atmosphere and menu.
La Bastille: an adult-only, intimate French-cuisine brasserie-style restaurant. The popular menu items are classical duck confit, French onion soup, goat cheese quiche and crème brûlée.
El Mercado: The main international buffet restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Good for groups and kids. It's named after its market-like atmosphere, and it serves all 3 meals of the day.
The Moongate: Asian restaurant serving dim sum, stir-fry, and teppanyaki. The teppanyaki table is a crowd-pleaser, especially for families.
Lorenzo's: features Italian cuisine. If you crave wood-fired oven pizza, trattoria-style lunches, rich pastas, and comforting risottos, you must visit this restaurant.
Tradewinds: A beachfront, casual seafood, grilled dishes and steakhouse-style food restaurant. The oceanfront setting makes it one of the most popular spots on the property.
Habaneros: located near the lighthouse, this is an authentic Mexican cevichería. The place serves tacos, fresh ceviche and Mexico’s best chips and guacamole. Habaneros is open for lunch and dinner. Among the specialities are Octopus ceviche, dogfish turnovers and Acapulco-style shrimp cocktails.
Chevy's: An American diner, named after a classic American car, is front and centre at the restaurant. As the name suggests, you will find all-American dishes like burgers, barbecue ribs, eggs any style, Caesar salad and shakes for lunch and early dinner.
Tres Cervezas: A microbrewery and Mexican cantina. You can watch the brewing process, try the house beers, and the menu has been revamped into a cantina concept with gaming tables and signature cocktails.
Juana Margarita: the tequila bar adjacent, has won awards for best all-inclusive resort bar — it has tequila tastings and a dedicated Tequilier on staff.
Pasteles: A dessert parlour. The kids will find it on their own within the first hour.
There is also a Chef's Table private dining room, a private pier for candlelit dinners, and in-suite dining available around the clock. All of this is included in your room rate, except for the private dining experiences, which cost extra.
